Information You Send Directly
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is submitted to the outside provider that supplies the result service. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. A message sent to us contains only the information in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may log an IP address, browser information, pages requested, and time of visit. We use aggregated log information to maintain the service and understand general traffic. Cookies or comparable technology can support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
Limited technical data helps operate the service, diagnose errors, measure traffic, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links point to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and outside search services. The policy of the destination controls information submitted there, including information sent through a sponsored-result provider.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure and otherwise as this policy permits.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because there are no accounts, the service does not hold a user password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from someone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information, and we will remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Eligible Virginia residents may have access, correction, deletion, opt-out, and appeal rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code Title 59.1, Chapter 53, subject to its scope and exceptions. Because this reference keeps little direct visitor data, a request ordinarily involves the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to make a request. Public records held by Virginia or Henrico County custodians are outside our control and must be addressed to the office holding the record.
